Clare road users are being warned that gardaí will be out on the country’s roads this weekend imposing the new drink driving limits.

As off midnight the legal blood alcohol level permitted for motorists fell from 80 to 50 mg with an even lower level of 20 mg for learner and professional drivers – with a graduated penalty point system for offenders.
