The Environment Minister has published a new draft of laws introducing sweeping changes to Local Government.

Under the Bill, the number of local authorities will be reduced from 114 to just 31, a move which includes the abolition of Clare’s Town Councils in Ennis, Shannon, Kilrush and Kilkee.
These will be replaced by larger, municipal districts.
