New Killaloe MD Chair Believes Land Dezoning Would Be ‘Final Nail In Coffin’ For East Clare Villages

The incoming Cathaoirleach of the Killaloe Municipal District believes proposals to dezone land throughout rural villages would be the ‘final nail’ in their coffin.

Work continues on the County Development Plan 2022-2028 – though fears have been expressed that villages such as Broadford and Carrigaholt could have lands dezoned in the absence of sufficient wastewater infrastructure.

The local authority insists it is constrained by Government policy and the National Planning Framework on the issue.
