New Guidelines On Bereavement Services For People Who Lose Babies

Families who've suffered the loss of a pregnancy or a young baby are welcoming the publication of new standards for health workers.

All hospitals will have to establish or improve Bereavement Specialist Teams to support parents.

In addition, information will have to be offered to parents who choose to terminate a pregnancy where a life limiting condition has been diagnosed.

Siobhan Donoghue is a member of the Terminations for Medical Reasons Ireland group who were consulted on these standards.
