The CSO has released it's 2014 yearbook, which contains a number of figures specific to the Banner.

This annual yearbook collates the statistics collected last year and paints a picture of some economic improvement in Clare.

Live register figures for the year were at their lowest level since 2008, while the number of new cars licence here grew to over 2,400.

Again, this is the highest figure seen since 2008 though for both this and the figures on employment, it's still a long way short of the height of the economic boom.

Shannon Airport's growth in passenger numbers is confirmed, with the number of people taking flights there hitting a five-year high, while it also transported nearly 11,000 tonnes of freight.

80% of people in the MidWest are online, and 64% of all people use social media.
