Clare’s Independent TD says moving outpatient services to a new site in Ennis will mean the people of Clare will have access to the services they are entitled to.
Clare County Council has granted planning permission for the conversion of a retail warehouse into a newly-developed facility, at the existing Westpoint Business Park site on the Kilrush Road.
The decision has been welcomed by the UL Hospitals Group, who say it will allow for the expansion of Outpatient services in Clare.
It’s expected this will house the likes of consultation rooms, and that it will see the existing Outpatients Department of Ennis General Hospital moving to this new location.
Dr Michael Harty feels the move will mean people in Clare will no longer face long journeys.
