It’s anticipated that a further 122 car parking spaces could be delivered in the county town in the first quarter of 2025.
It comes as Clare County Council has lodged plans for a new car park at the Waterpark Campus on Drumbiggle Road.
The site would consist of 70 new public bays and 52 designated staff spaces, while the existing car park would be converted and equipped with eight disabled bays and six electric vehicle charging points, bringing the total number on offer to 136.
Ennis Municipal District Senior Engineer Seán Lenihan says that the development will play a key role in reducing traffic congestion in the town.
