New emergency medicine facilities will officially open at Ennis General Hospital next week.

Accident and Emergency services are being replaced by a new model of care with a Local Injury Clinic to address minor emergencies and a Medical Assessment Unit to facilitate patients referred to hospital by their GPs.
The medical assessment unit will see patients referred directly to the care of consultants, and will operate from 8am to 6pm, Monday to Friday.
Clare Labour TD Michael McNamara says it’s a welcome addition to local health services.
