The coronavirus has thrown the opening date for the new county library off track.
The near-14 million euro facility is being built at Glór in Ennis, but construction was shut down for almost two months during the height of the crisis, before resuming in May.

It was expected that the library would open before the end of next year but the Council is now predicting a likely completion date of the first half of 2022.
While it is now a month since the construction sector returned, the observation of social distancing guidelines means that the pace of work on building sites is likely to be impacted.
