Fianna Fáil Councillor Cillian Murphy was yesterday elected as the successor to Fine Gael’s Joe Garrihy as Cathaoirleach of the West Clare MD.
Cllr Murphy says the biggest challenge will be in developing a plan that meets the new needs of the coastal and rural West Clare towns and isn’t confined to the policies that were in place pre-Covid.
The Kilkee-based Cllr is keen to ensure that the 9 councillors in the district come together to see that the changed requirements in West Clare, brought about by the pandemic, are met.
