Kilnamona Councillor James Breen was unanimously elected as Cathaoirleach of Clare County Council last evening, with Fine Gael's Mary Howard chosen as his deputy.
Taking the Mayoral Chains from outgoing Chair John Crowe, Councillor Breen pledged to work towards supporting employment growth and educational opportunities in this region, as he expressed an optimisitic outlook for the local economy
