The newly elected Mayor of Ennis claims protecting the interests of local traders will be a key priority during his term in office.
Fianna Fáíl’s Pat Daly previously served as Cathaoirleach of the Ennis Municipal District in 2015 and will renew his tenure as chair at July’s meeting of the MD.
Clare County Council, meanwhile are currently imposing temporary pedestrianisation measures between the hours of 11:30am and 4:30pm on O’Connell Street, which could remain in place until January next year.
However, Cllr Daly believes if the plans are not suitably scaled back, businesses in the area will bear an undeserving brunt.
