Under these new bye-laws, musicians who perform on the streets of Ennis will only be allowed to perform in a specific location for a maximum of two hours in any day.

Once this time is up, they must move elsewhere, and a location can't be reserved in advance.

Other rules mean that the public can't be charged for a performance in a public place, thogh money can be left or given to the performer.

Access to buildings must be maintained, and performances must stop by 11 at night.

There is no mention of a permit system for buskers, such as that which is in place in Dublin, and breaches of the bye-laws could lead to on the spot fines of 75 euro.
