New Bishop of Galway To Be Installed Today

A new Bishop for Galway is being installed today.

The Most Reverend Doctor Brendan Kelly is to be ordained as Bishop of Galway, Kilmacduagh and Apostolic Administrator of Kilfenora.

President of Ireland Michael D Higgins will attend the ceremony, which will take place in the Cathedral of Our Lady Assumed into Heaven and St. Nicholas, Galway at 3pm.

Bishop Kelly, who is a former parish priest of Lisdoonvarna, will take over from the former Bishop Martin Drennan, who handed his resignation in to Pope Francis on July 2016.
