The HSE says 84 more beds which are to come on stream at the region’s main hospital this year will make a significant difference.
As part of the State’s COVID-19 response, 24 new beds are to open at University Hospital Limerick this month with a further 60 beds arriving across the hospitals group before the end of the year.

HSE Chief Operations Officer Dr Anne O’Connor expects the new beds to help address this problem.
