The Chairman of Kilrush Community Hospital says patients there will receive an even higher standard of care following the opening of a new 15 bed extension.
The new facilities come at a cost of 1.2 million euro, which was raised entirely by local communities in West Clare with no HSE funding.
The hospital has been run voluntarily for the last 29 years, and currently has capacity for 45 patients.
Gerry O’Malley believes it's become an integral part of the West Clare Community.
