Nearly €700,000 Set Aside For Improving Clare’s Regional & Local Roads

Almost €700,000 in funding has been earmarked for improving Clare’s regional and local roads.

The monies are part of an overall package of €17.3 million announced by the Department of Transport which target flood alleviation works and bridge strengthening and repairs.

Included in the funding is €34,000 for nd upgrade of the sea wall on Ballyvaughan’s R477, while a further €40,000 has been set aside in an attempt to combat road flooding in Crusheen.

The grant will now be made available to Clare County Council to begin works on 24 separate designated regional and local roads across the county.
