Nearly €17k In Funding Allocated To Clare Groups Promoting Physical Activity In The Elderly

Almost €17,000 in funding has been announced to promote physical activity in older people in Clare.

The Age & Opportunity and Sport Ireland grant will benefit 32 different groups in Clare working with the elderly.

Nationwide 995 groups will receive grants totaling €514,120.

 

The National Grant Scheme provides an accessible and enjoyable means for older people in communities to reap the health rewards from doing physical activity.
The successful Clare groups are:

Life Fit Weightlifting Club, Kilrush Nursing Home, Athlunkard House, Ennis Hockey Club, Gortlomain ICA, O’Callaghans Mills GAA Club, Kilmihil ARA, Tradaree ICA, Burren Sub Aqua Club, Fergus ICA Guild, Kilrush Cycling Without Age, Kilmurry/McMahon ICA, Kilmurry Ibrickane/North Clare AC, Sixmilebridge ICA, St. Theresas Nursing Home, Ennistymon Parish Project Community Centre Ltd, Clarecare, Bridgetown ICA, Lisdoonvarna Community Health Facility, East Clare Paddlers, Castleconnell Boat Club, Clarecare over 65s Club Ennis, Scariff ICA Guild, Ogonnelloe Over 50’s, Cranny ICA, Corofin Older Adult Group, Castle Carraig Riding Club, Cratloe ICA, Kilrush Go for Life Group at the West Clare Family Resource Centre Dance, Ballynacally ICA, Corofin ICA, Doora ICA.
