Power has been restored to the almost 1,000 homes across the county which had their supply interrupted during a thunderstorm this morning.
Heavy wind, rain, thunder and lightening this morning saw electricity in Kilbaha, Kilrush, Cranny, Rineanna, Drumquin, Birdhill and Scariff cut off.

A yellow weather alert for heavy rain and wind will come into effect at 6pm this evening and last until midnight.
The ESB restored power before lunchtime this afternoon.
