Nearly 1,500 staff at Bord na Mona will stage a one day strike today.

It follows a ballot of workers which rejected a pay deal that had been negotiated by unions and management.

Union officials will meet after today’s work stoppage to determine its impact, and discuss whether any further action should be taken.
