The Central Bank says just over 94-thousand mortgages held by owner occupiers were in arrears at the end of December, that’s up by over 3-thousand from last September.

The figures show that 11.9 percent of residential mortgages are in arrears, while almost 19 percent of buy-to-let property owners are in trouble.

Secretary General of the Department of Finance John Moran said his department is expecting more repossessions in the coming year.
