There’s been a near ten percent fall in the number of people in Clare receiving the Pandemic Unemployment Payment this week.
8,170 people received the government support in their bank accounts in the past number of days – the lowest in this county so far this year.
It’s a fall of more than 750 people on the same time last week, and almost half of the peak total of PUP recipients in Clare back in May 2020.

Nationally, more than 330,000 people are still receiving the benefit, with over 30,000 employees having gone back to work since the 18th of May, according to the Department of Social Protection.
