There have been celebrations for those involved with the development of Scattery Island, after they scooped a national honour.
The island’s festival was named winner of the ‘Community Gathering of the Year’ award at this week’s Chambers Ireland Excellence in Local Government Awards.
The event also saw Ennis Town Council named as the best Town Council in Ireland, just over six months before all 80 of these bodies are formally abolished.
