Gardai have released the name of the Polish man who lost his life in a stabbing incident in Ennis in the early hours of this morning.
31 year old Piotr Nowakowski had been living in Clare for a number of years, but lost his life after the violent incident which occured after a row broke out at a party in a house in the Sandfield Mews Estate, near Ennis General Hospital, at around one o’clock.
A post mortem examination has been carried out this afternoon, while a 39 year old man who suffered a broken leg following the stabbing has been questioned by Gardai.
Three men – in their 20’s, 30’s and 40’s have been questioned by Ennis and Shannon Garda Stations. Two of them are Irish but all three have resided in Clare for a number of years.
