NAGP Vice President Encourages Patients To Seek Treatment Abroad

The Shannon-based Vice President of the NAGP is encouraging patients on lengthy waiting lists to seek treatment abroad.

The NAGP, which represents family doctors, is campaigning for patients to make use of the Cross-border Healthcare Directive, which allows EU residents access to health services in other EU states.

Those who meet the criteria will be reimbursed for costs by the HSE including the cost of the consultation, though travel costs are not covered.
