Murphy Speaks Of Mental Health Difficulties Ahead Of Charity Cycle

A former Ennis Mayor has spoken of his mental health difficulties, as he encourages people to get active in a bid to improve their own mental health.

Clarecastle County Councillor Paul Murphy has credited cycling with improving his form, having previously felt that he lost what he describes as a “zest for life” at times.

He’s using his personal experiences as a motivation to organise a charity cycle this Sunday, which is raising funds for local mental health services.

Councillor Murphy is encouraging people to take part, and to Pedal It Out For Your Mental Health.

The cycle takes place this coming Sunday, and starts at Clare County Council Headquarters in Ennis.   There are three routes – 35km, 60km and 80km – all travelling in the direction of Tulla and Feakle.  Registration gets underway at 9:00 and the cycle itself starts at 10:30.
