Murder Trial Of Saverio Bellante Hears Admissions From Accused

The murder trial of Saverio Bellante has heard a number of admissions from the accused, including that he killed Tom O’Gorman on the night of January 11th 2014. 

Lawyers for the 36 year old Italian national made nine admissions under section 22 of the Criminal Justice Act, including that Mr O’Gorman died of blunt force trauma to the head.

The jury heard the tape of a 999 call, during which Mr Bellante said he killed his landlord.

Counsel for the DPP has told the jury that the only issue for them to consider will be whether insanity was a factor.
