Gardai are appealing for witnesses to a serious assault in Co. Westmeath, after the 20 year old victim last night lost his fight for life.

Andrew Dolan – a student from from Carrick-on-Shannon in County Leitrim – had been at a 21st birthday party in Mullingar before he was attacked in the early hours of December 23rd.
He died at Dublin’s Beaumont hospital last night.
Investigating officers have questioned three people in connection with the attack – and files are being prepared for the DPP.
