The number of reported cases of mumps in the MidWest has increased by over 600% this year.
Department of Health Figures, reported by TheJournal.ie, show there have been 189 reported cases of the disease in Clare, Limerick and North Tipperary so far this year.

Mumps cases are increasing throughout Ireland, with a particular rise amongst teens and young adults.
The rise in the disease has been linked with misinformation about vaccines on social media.
