Clare Gardaí have arrested three people following a checkpoint on the N85 near the Clareabbey Roundabout in Clarecastle this afternoon.
Two people were arrested on suspicion of drug driving, while a third was arrested on suspicion of drink driving.

The checkpoint was part of a countywide operation conducted by the Clare Roads Policing Unit for the Bank Holiday weekend.
The checkpoints were designed to target uninsured drivers , intoxicated drivers and criminals using the road network.
