A number of people have been arrested following a spate of burglaries across Clare in the past week.
Six burglaries were reported to in the Shannon, Ennis, Clarecastle and Sixmilebridge areas between Tuesday and Friday of last week.
A house was broken into in the Glen na Smol area of Shannon at around 2am on Wednesday, with a male subsequently arrested.
Two youths were also arrested following a break-in at a house in the Smithstown area at around 3am on Tuesday, with property seized by Gardaí.
Four people were arrested following four separate burglaries in the Ennis, Clarecastle and Sixmilebridge areas on Tuesday and Sergeant Edel Burke says investigations are ongoing.
“Ennis Gardai are investigating 4 burglaries that occurred last Tuesday the 8th September between 1am and 5am in business premsies on Cornmarket St Ennis, Main St Clarecastle and Sixmilebridge.
Ennis Gardai intercepted a car acting suspicious that matched a passer-by’s description, four males on board were arrested and property seized, an investigation is continuing here in to these incidents,” Sergeant burke said.
