A Clare Fine Gael Councillor says many members of his party are disheartened with the government’s move to collect monies paid under the Local Property Tax.
Ennis Councillor Tony Mulqueen made his comments at this month’s meeting of Clare County Council, where he called on the Environment Minister Phil Hogan to use money collected in Clare to fund local services.
He said he now believes Clare County Council will not see the locally collected funds used here until 2016, and that promises have been broken.
