Muintir na Tíre insist they will continue to fight to drive down the cost of community alert text schemes.
It follows concerns raised by organisers of the one in Lisdoonvarna/Doolin/Kilshanny, who claim it costs the members over 13 euro per text sent out.
The Text Alert Rebate Scheme saw many of the smaller groups receive a grant of €150 to cover costs – though the larger ones were still forced to self-fund.
