Motorists warned speed signs can record data

Clare motorists are being warned that some of the county's speed signs can record data. 

There are over two dozen flashing signs across Clare which warn on coming motorists if the are travelling above the limit.

While the majority of the units are simple in their design some, including the one on the Tulla road in Ennis, are creating a profile of the type of speeds being done on that particular section of road. 

The local authority says both it and local Gardaí acknowledge that the units which are in place in Ennis, Lissycasey, Miltown Malbay and Kilkee have proven to be very effective.
