Motorists Waned Of Dangerous Conditions On Clare Roads This Morning

Gardaí are warning motorists of dangerous conditions on some of the county's roads this morning.

Sub-zero conditions have led to icy patches in some places – The N18 between Bunratty and Shannon is said to be particularly bad at Ballycally and Junction 8 Shannon town.

Six cars left the road this morning, though there's no reports of injuries.

Icy conditions have also been reported on the Miltown to Inagh and Inagh to Kilnamona roads and from Clareabbey to exit 12 of the M18 motorway as well as housing estates in Ennis and Shannon..

Clare County Council have treated the roads on two occasions overnight and Senior Engineer Tom Tiernan is advising drivers to be extremely careful.
