Motorists Advised Of Treacherous Condidtions On Clare Roads

Motorists are being advised of treacherous driving conditions due to black ice on a number of roads in the county.

The Kilrush Road from Kilmihil to Knockalough and at Lisseycasey is particularly bad – There have already been three road traffic accidents there this morning, though there's no reports of injuries.

Emergency services have reported difficulties in reaching the incidents and are appealing to road users to slow down and drive with extreme caution, while crews from Clare County Council are treating the affected areas.

Gardaí are also advising that entrances to housing estates and carparks are also affected.

Temperatures fell to as low as minutes 3 degrees in some places across the country.
