A motorcyclist has been killed in a crash in west Clare.

The man in his early 40's was airlifted to University Hospital Limerick after sustaining critical injuries in a crash near Kilkee earlier today.
However he was later pronouced dead.
The stretch of road is currently closed to facilitate an examination by Garda Forensic Collision Investigators.
