Motion For Animal Welfare Officer To Be Appointed In Clare

Clare County Councillors are calling for a new Animal Welfare Officer to be appointed in Clare.

Mayor of Clare Mary Howard brought the motion to the most recent Ennis Municipal District meeting to provide clarity over what protocol should be followed in case of incidents involving animals.

Clare has been without an Animal Welfare Officer for two years and as such it is sometimes unclear who’s responsibility incidents fall to, the Gardaí or Clare County Council.
