More Than 100 Admitted Patients Waiting For Beds At UHL

Nurses say the level of overcrowding at the region’s main hospital remains by far the highest in the country, once again today.

The latest trolleywatch analysis from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation shows there were 115 admitted patients waiting for beds at University Hospital Limerick this morning, 49 of those in the Emergency Department.

The overall figure is more than double the next busiest facility; University Hospital Galway and is 27 more than all ten hospitals serving the East of the country today.
