As part of efforts to tackle Ireland's accomodation crisis, the government are looking to extend the choice-based letting system, which has been trialled in Dublin, to the rest of the country.
It enables those on the housing waiting list to log on to a dedicated website to see available homes and to express their interest in them.

The Government's Housing Agency is also looking to purchase around 1,000 private properties that will be assessed for suitability over the next two years
However, the Chairman of Clare's Housing Committee is less than enthusiastic about the proposed measures.
Gerry Flynn insists that such measures are only scratching the surface of Ireland's housing crisis and the problem in Clare remains a lack of supply.
