Mixed news on Clare’s Propety Market

There’s conflicting news on Clare’s property market today with the release of two separate reports.

Figures from My Home.ie show the cost of a home in the county actually rose by 3 percent during the second quarter of this year and now stands at 147 thousand euro.

However a second report from rival property website – Daft.ie show the average asking price in Clare is still falling – and recorded a drop of 2.8 percent during the same three month period.

It puts the cost of a home here at 151 thousand euro .

The national average asking price now stands at 172- thousand euro, which is down 2.6 per cent on the first three months of this year, a drop of more than 50 per cent since 2007.

Ronan Lyons, Economist with Daft.ie, says once the property tax is introduced there’ll be more certainty in the market.
