Minute of silence at Clare schools to remember Famine victims

Students in Clare’s national schools will join their colleagues across Ireland today in observing a minute’s silent reflection in honour of the victims of the Great Famine.

The event, taking place at 12 noon, comes just two days before Kilrush plays host to the National Famine Commemoration, with President Michael D Higgins among those in attendance.
