The Minister for Planning, Housing and Local Government is being urged to “see sense” and immediately reverse a controversial directive in Clare’s County Development Plan.
In August, Fine Gael’s Kieran O’Donnell ordered the removal of the exceptional criteria which enabled the construction of homes on national secondary routes in the county such as the N67, N68 and N85.
The ruling effectively eliminates the building of one-off houses on a 115km stretch of land.
Kilrush Independent TD, Violet Anne Wynne says the growth of the county is being stagnated without valid reason.
