The Minister of State at the Department of Transport is confident that visitor numbers to Shannon Heritage sites will continue to rise as transatlantic flights resume at Shannon Airport.
Responding to a question from Fianna Fáil Deputy from Meelick, Cathal Crowe, Minister Hildegarde Naughton confirmed that visitor numbers to Clare’s three sites – Knappgoue Castle, Craggaunowen and Bunratty Castle & Folk Park – had increased since the easing of public health restrictions late last year.
The sites are currently in the process of being transferred from the management of Shannon Group to Clare County Council.
Minister Naughton believes the sites will reopen full-time to the public next month.
