A Government Minister says the state is engaging with the Inch community in a bid to diffuse tensions and respond to concerns of the local community.
Minister Simon Coveney is commenting in the wake of a decision by protestors to lift their blockade at Magowna House on Sunday, after six days.
The Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, who’s visiting the Midwest this week, has expressed hope that through engagement, the Government can give the reassurances needed to prevent a similar situation from happening again.
He’s acknowleded that the Inch community have real concerns and have distanced themselves from far right thinking.
Minister Coverney has told Clare FM, that no-one can vito people coming into their local community, but it’s up to the state to provide reassurance to communities and respond to concerns where possible.
