The Agriculture Minister insists that the government is committed to helping Clare farmers whose land was flooded during the winter storms earlier this year.

Hundreds of acres of farmland in areas including Kildysart, Ballynacally, Doonbeg and Loop Head were submerged after flood defences were overwhelmed by water.
There are concerns that a lack of action will leave them vulnerable again this winter, and a former Clare IFA Chairman has previously accused the government of abandoning them.
But speaking to Clare FM in Liscannor yesterday, Minister Simon Coveney insisted this won't be the case.
