The Minister for Higher Education has described the expansion of the College of Further Education and Training in Scariff as crucial for helping to meet the skills and lifelong learning demands both locally and nationally.
Minister Simon Harris has visited the East Clare town today, to announce capital funding for a purpose-built extension to the college campus, under the Further Education and Training Strategic Infrastructure Upgrade Fund.
The project will now move forward to the appointment of a design team, with a view to development of a more detailed project brief, in consultation with relevant stakeholders.
The funding announced today will help add to the number of courses available in Construction and Engineering, which Minister Harris says is of huge importance.
