Minister For Expenditure Commits To Further Funding For Clare Communities Without Wastewater Infrastructure

The Minister For Public Expenditure has committed to exploring further funding options for communities in Clare without access to Wastewater infrastructure in the upcoming budget.

In April of 2022, the government launched a €50 million pilot scheme to develop facilities in towns and villages without access to treatment services across the country.

However while unsewered communities in the county, such as Carrigaholt, Doolin ,Spanish Point. Broadford and Cooraclare have applied for the scheme, it’s anticipated the construction costs could surpass the entire national allocation.
