The Minister For Justice insists coastal tourism reliant counties such as Clare have not been unfairly treated in the provision of emergency accommodation for International Protection Applicants.
Clare is currently hosting 4,464 Ukrainian Refugees , representing the sixth highest total nationwide.
Meanwhile a recent report from the The Irish Tourism Industry Confederation found that 35% of all tourist beds are currently providing shelter to Asylum Seekers under government contracts.
Responding to a question from Clare Independent TD, Michael McNamara on the matter, Simon Harris claims the state does not regionally discriminate when housing refugees.
