The Transport Minister has said Clare County Council’s request for a place on the board of the newly independent Shannon Airport will not be accepted.

While insisting that he will take local views on board, Minister Varadkar has said the board could become ‘unweildy’ if local representatives were included.
The Minister has been speaking at a key business aviation conference at Dromoland Castle today, where he affirmed to delegates the government’s belief that their plan for Clare’s international airport is the best strategy.
